What the patients are talking about
Safeguarding, Patient Safety & Accompanying Persons Policy
At the British Footcare Group the safety and wellbeing of our patients are our priority. We are committed to providing a safe clinical environment and following robust safeguarding procedures for adults and children.
1. Safeguarding Commitment
We recognise our responsibility to protect individuals from harm, abuse, or neglect. Our staff are trained to identify signs of concern and know how to report them to the relevant local authorities or professional bodies.
2. Patient Safety & Clinical Standards
- All treatments are delivered by qualified, registered clinicians.
- We maintain strict infection control protocols and clinical hygiene standards.
- Patient records are held securely and confidentially in line with GDPR.
3. Accompanying Persons & Chaperones
Patients are welcome to bring a relative or friend to their appointment for support. In some cases, we may require a chaperone to be present:
- Children (under 16): Must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for all assessments and treatments.
- Vulnerable Adults: We recommend they are accompanied by a carer or advocate where appropriate.
- Clinical Preference: Patients may request a staff chaperone during their treatment if available.
4. Reporting Concerns
If you have any concerns regarding safeguarding or patient safety at the British Footcare Group, please contact our Clinical Lead or Head Office immediately. We take all reports seriously and will investigate following our internal governance protocols.
