How Online Appointment Requests Work
FOOT CARE operates a central booking and clinical triage system designed to help patients access the most appropriate care for their needs.
When submitting an appointment request through our website, you will not normally see live appointment availability or book a specific appointment directly.
Instead, you will be asked to provide information regarding:
The reason for your enquiry
Your preferred clinic location
Your preferred days or times
Any additional information which may help us assist you
Once submitted, your request is reviewed by our team who will identify the most appropriate appointment options available.
A member of our Central Booking Team will then contact you to discuss availability and arrange an appointment.
Our online appointment request system is intentionally designed as a patient enquiry and triage service rather than a simple online diary. This allows our team to consider practitioner skills, treatment requirements, clinic facilities and appointment availability before confirming an appointment.
Telephone Queue Information
When calling our Central Booking Team, there may occasionally be a short wait during busy periods.
If you hear hold music, this means your call remains connected and you are waiting in the queue to speak with a member of the team.
Our team can see that you are waiting and will answer your call as soon as possible.
If you hang up before speaking to us, our team may attempt to return your call later where appropriate, particularly if we believe your enquiry relates to an appointment or patient care matter.
Our Multidisciplinary Team
FOOT CARE operates a multidisciplinary team consisting of both Foot Health Practitioners and Podiatrists.
This allows us to provide a broad range of services whilst ensuring patients are seen by the most appropriate available clinician for their needs.
If you have a preference to see a particular practitioner, please let us know when booking.
Quality, Safety & Professional Standards
FOOT CARE operates as an independent private healthcare provider.
Patient safety, professionalism and clinical governance remain at the heart of everything we do.
You Will Find That:
✅ Our team members are DBS checked
✅ We maintain robust patient safety procedures
✅ We are ICO registered for data protection
✅ We operate in line with recognised healthcare standards
✅ We continuously work to maintain high standards of professionalism and patient care
Why Are DBS Checks Important?
Healthcare professionals regularly work with:
Children
Older adults
Vulnerable individuals
Patients receiving personal healthcare
DBS screening forms an important part of our recruitment process and helps provide reassurance that appropriate background checks have been completed.
First Time Visiting Us?
If this is your first appointment with FOOT CARE, welcome.
Most patients find that arriving close to their appointment time is the best approach.
Whilst some of our clinics operate with dedicated reception teams and waiting areas, others operate as clinician-led clinics where your practitioner may be treating another patient immediately before your appointment.
If you are a new patient, a New Patient Registration Form will normally be completed before treatment begins.
If the clinic door is closed, please use the doorbell where provided and allow a few moments for a member of the team to greet you.
Why Do We Ask You To Complete A New Patient Form?
Your New Patient Registration Form helps us provide safe and appropriate care.
The information you provide allows us to:
Understand your medical history
Review medications
Identify allergies
Ensure treatment is clinically appropriate
Maintain accurate healthcare records
Please ensure all information provided is accurate and up to date.
What Happens At My First Appointment?
Your clinician will discuss the reason for your visit and any concerns you may have.
During your appointment they may:
Review your medical history
Assess your feet and lower limbs
Discuss your symptoms
Explain their findings
Discuss treatment options
Provide advice and recommendations
Answer any questions
Where appropriate, treatment may be carried out during the same appointment.
Information About Certain Specialist Appointments
Cryotherapy & Verruca Treatment
If you have booked an appointment for cryotherapy or verruca treatment, your clinician will first assess the affected area to determine whether treatment remains appropriate.
Your clinician will explain:
Available treatment options
Expected outcomes
Aftercare requirements
Any questions you may have
Some verrucae require multiple treatments and outcomes can vary between patients.
Verruca Needling
If you have booked a verruca needling appointment, your clinician will first assess the affected area and confirm that needling remains appropriate.
Verruca needling is typically performed under local anaesthetic.
Your clinician will explain:
The procedure
Recovery expectations
Risks and benefits
Aftercare requirements
Detailed aftercare advice will be provided before you leave the clinic.
Toenail Removal Surgery Under Local Anaesthetic
If you have booked a toenail removal procedure under local anaesthetic, your clinician will discuss the planned treatment before proceeding.
It is often advisable to wear comfortable or loose-fitting footwear as dressings will usually be applied following treatment.
Your clinician will explain:
The procedure
The local anaesthetic process
Recovery expectations
Aftercare requirements
Risks, benefits and alternatives
Further information regarding toenail surgery can be found on our website.
Biomechanical Assessments, Gait Analysis & Orthotics
If you have booked a biomechanical assessment, gait analysis or orthotics consultation, it is extremely helpful to bring the footwear you wear most often.
Examples include:
Trainers
Everyday footwear
Work shoes
Safety footwear
School shoes
Walking boots
Sports footwear
If you currently use orthotics or insoles, please bring these with you.
The more information your clinician has regarding your normal footwear, the more accurate the assessment and recommendations may be.
Future Appointments, Reminders & Staying Connected
Many foot health conditions benefit from ongoing care, maintenance or periodic review appointments.
Following your appointment, your clinician may recommend a suitable timeframe for future care.
You can book future appointments:
With your clinician before leaving
Through reception where available
By calling 0161 515 1997
Via our website
By emailing customerservices@taylororganisation.org
Courtesy Reminder Service
Patients may be automatically added to our courtesy reminder and patient recall system.
From time to time we may contact patients regarding:
Appointment reminders
Review appointments
Treatment plan information
Service updates
There is never any obligation to book an appointment.
Further information regarding patient reminders and communications can be found within our Cancellation, Treatment Plan & Payment Policy.
Marketing Preferences & Opting Out
Patients may opt out of marketing communications at any time.

This includes:
Marketing emails
Marketing SMS messages
Promotional telephone calls
Essential communications relating to appointments, payments, treatment plans or patient care may still be issued where necessary.
Health Insurance & Healthcare Cash Plans
If you have private medical insurance, a healthcare cash plan or receive healthcare benefits through your employer, please let us know.
We are happy to provide itemised receipts where required.
Patients remain responsible for payment unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in advance.
Patients Under 16 Years Of Age
Patients under the age of 16 should normally attend with a parent, legal guardian or responsible accompanying adult.
The accompanying adult may be asked to provide:
Medical history
Medication information
Allergy information
Consent where appropriate
Emergency contact information
For safeguarding reasons, children should not be left unattended within our clinics.
Carers, Family Members & Accompanying Adults
Patients are welcome to attend with a family member, friend, carer or support worker where appropriate.
This may be particularly helpful for:
Children and young people
Older adults
Patients with mobility difficulties
Patients requiring communication support
Where space and clinical circumstances permit, accompanying individuals are normally welcome within the consultation room.
Information About Some Of Our Clinics
Some FOOT CARE locations have dedicated reception teams, whilst others operate as clinician-led clinics without a continuously staffed reception desk.
If you are attending a clinician-led clinic:
Arrive as close as possible to your appointment time
Use the doorbell if the clinic door is closed
Allow a few moments for your clinician to finish with another patient
Do not assume the clinic is closed because the door is locked
Accessibility & Assistance
If you have mobility requirements, communication needs or require assistance accessing the clinic, please let our Central Booking Team know before your appointment.
